The router configuration is done through your browser.
In your browser (Internet Explorer) enter 192.168.1.1 into the Address bar and press Enter.
You will be prompted to enter a username and password for the router.
By default this should be "admin" for both the username and the password.
You should now be in the router's setup.
Click on Quick Setup.
VPI needs to be "8", and VCI needs to be "35".
Click Next.
Select PPP over Ethernet, and set Encapsulation Type to LLC/SNAP.
Click Next.
Select Obtain an IP address automatically, and tick Enable NAT.
Click Next.
Enter the username and password as provided on your information letter.
Depending on your account type, your username may be one of 3 different formats:
"username@alphalink.com.au", "username@residential.alphadsl.com.au", or "username@alphalink.your-dsl.net"
Select Always on.
Click Next.
You no not need to change any settings here.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
Wait 2 minutes while the router reboots.
You should now be online. To be sure, click on the Connect to Internet item in the menu.
Click on the Connect button
You should now see this screen if you are online.
If so, try browsing to a website.
