  Changing your Dialup Number  @

We are moving to a new single dial-up number for all members throughout Australia. If you have a broadband account (ADSL or Wireless), this change applies to your backup dial-up only, and you DO NOT need to make any changes to your broadband connection.

Dial-up members need to make the following 2 changes:

The dial-up number for dial-up access is:

0198 308 800

(ZERO ONE NINE EIGHT THREE ZERO EIGHT EIGHT ZERO ZERO)

This number is a local call from almost anywhere in Australia. Chariot is not responsible for call connection charges and cannot guarantee the call rate that you will be charged when using the number provided. We urge you to check with your Telecommunications carrier to confirm call charges when dialing into our access number (Telstra 1300 362 162).

You will also need to change the Username that is entered when dialing in. The Username now needs to be entered in the format:

loginname@alphalink.com.au

where you currently have just your login name. (Where loginname is YOUR Alphalink login name, eg. if you currently had example, you would need to enter example@alphalink.com.au)

IMPORTANT! Our dialup number is charged at the cost of a local call from a land line only. If you are calling from any other service (e.g a mobile telephone), you may incur higher call charges.

This page describes how to change the dial-up number on your computer.

Automatic Setup

If you are running Windows, we have an automated setup tool which will make the changes for you automatically. This is recommended for all members who are using our dial-up as their primary connection. To use the automatic setup, click here.
